I am Daryl Conde, a Filipino student who wants to apply for the AU-pair Cultural Exchange program. I have always wanted to travel the world when I was young. My father was a seafarer and he has always told us stories about the various places he has been to and all kinds of people he met along the way. For me, being in a new environment is an exciting thing because then, I would feel like I have experienced the stories and make my own. It is also my desire to be part of a new culture and meet with new people. Living in another country would be a great opportunity for me. I would be able to travel, meet new people, and learn of their languages and culture.

I, as a middle child in a low-class family, have always been hardworking and resourceful. Even though I had to stop school due to financial shortcomings, I never stopped learning and experiencing new things. I applied for jobs to broaden my knowledge and help my family financially. I have been working as a Technical/Customer Support Representative for more than three years now and have dealt with different kinds of people during my tenure. This has made me more confident to apply for this program. I believe that I will be able to assist and bond with my host family, at the same time do well in school.
