Hi! I’m Bethel, 24, from the Philippines. I recently graduated with a degree in Multimedia Arts, but before becoming a creative, I was simply a daughter, a sister, and a granddaughter who grew up learning how to take care of the people around me. I was raised by my mom together with my two brothers. Being a single-income household taught me early that family means showing up for each other, even when life is not always easy. I also helped care for my grandmother when she became bedridden. I remember how ordinary moments of caring for someone can become meaningful: preparing things for them, keeping them company, being patient, and learning to notice what they need even without them saying it. I think those experiences quietly shaped the way I care for people today. I now live and work in Guimaras, a small island in the Philippines, where life feels very different from the busy cities. Being here has made me appreciate community, nature, and the simple rhythm of everyday life. I love hiking, spontaneous trips with friends and family, meeting people, and being outdoors. I’m also passionate about photography, especially candid and street photography, because I love capturing people in their most natural and unfiltered moments. This would be my first experience as an au pair, and I want to be honest about that. I may not have years of formal childcare experience, but I bring a lifetime of being part of a family where caring for one another mattered. I’m currently also gaining hands-on experience caring for two children when their mom isn’t around. What I hope to bring to a host family is warmth, patience, creativity, and someone who genuinely wants to be useful. I’d love to play with your children, help with their routines, cook with them, create little projects, explore nature, or simply be there on an ordinary day. And in return, I hope to learn your family’s culture, language, traditions, and way of life. I’m not looking to go abroad simply because I want to travel. I want to leave my comfort zone, become more independent and confident, and understand the world through the people I meet. I’d also love to share a little of my own home with you, especially the Filipino spirit of bayanihan, the warmth I grew up with, and the stories of life on a small island. I hope to find a family where I’m not just someone who comes to help for a few months, but someone you can genuinely welcome into your everyday life. And hopefully, by the time I return home, I’ll have gained not only experience, but people and memories that feel like a second home.
