MARY-NEL, 24 ÅR

My name is Mary-Nel Ellorimo. I am 24 years old and from the province of Bohol in Philippines. I am an open minded, responsible, and warm-hearted girl who absolutely loves working with children! I live with my parents, Arnel (49) and Mary Ann (52), and my three brothers Joemary (25), Kyriel (18) , and Niethen(7) who means a lot to me and I have looked after him for a long time. I am not only his older sister but also his good friend. That is the reason why I have always had a great relationship with children: I am not only a responsible educator, but also their friend. I am living in a house that is located in an area full of nature. My father works as a construction worker at a small firm, my mother works as an sales agent. Neithan is currently attending the 2nd grade of elementary school. Overall, we are a pretty large family, I have 7 cousins. I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me. In my free time, I like to listen to music and karaoke. Dancing is one of my favorite hobbies and singing. I am also teaching my young brother how to dance and sing. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book, watching movies and singing karaoke. At the moment, I work as a senior cashier in Jollibee, attending all costumers for their orders. I enjoy this job very much, because I am able to bond with many of my customers. I also join singing contest in our province. For the past ten years, I took care of children of all ages from different families. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. When my brother was younger, I also took care of him, when our mum was working. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them. The reason why I want to go abroad as an au pair is that I want to get to know the other countries the way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be the best way to help my family especially my younger brothers to finish their studies. I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family.
