*Already in Denmark (Copenhagen area), looking for a new host family ASAP* *Fully vaccinated!* Dear future host family, I am a responsible, fun, reliable, adventurous, creative aupair who's passionate about experiencing new cultures and learning languages. I have experience with both neurotypical and neuroatypical ("with special needs") children and believe children should be cared for through positive discipline, affection and play. More about me: I have a bachelor's in Psychology and have last worked as a clinical psychotherapist. I'm fluent in Portuguese and English, and I'm currently self studying Spanish (B1), French (A2) and Danish (A0). I love languages, reading, writing, spending time with my cats and doing yoga. I'm familiar with larger cities and with the countryside as well - either experience would be incredible for me. I'm very into authenticity and intentional living, so mindfulness is something I try to exercise often. I might seem shy at the beginning, but don't be fooled: I'm a very warm and loving person once I get to know people better! I've had work experiences with children on the autism spectrum and it's been very gratifying, so I know very well what's important in caring for children with special needs. My strengths: I'm a sensitive person, so I easily pick up emotional cues and because of that I'm an excellent listener. I'm great at adapting to situations and problem solving. I enjoy coming up with new ideas to figure out a way through the challenges. I'm kind and empathetic - two traits I consider being very important when dealing with children! After all, they'll learn how to be strong and compassionate beings by the influence of adults around them. I love adventure and learning new things; I have a curious and active mind. I value open communication, so there are no taboo subjects for me - you can always expect me to want to listen and understand your point of view. My weaknesses: I'm keen on helping, which can sometimes mean I give too much of myself and end up feeling overexerted. I have a hard time working on something when I don't know what's expected of me, because of that I tend ask a lot of questions. I'm not very creative when it comes to cooking, but I'm great at following recipes so you just need to tell me what you like :D Does writing long texts count as a weakness? If so, guilty as charged!
