CARING, FUN, AND EXPERIENCED AU PAIR
HAPPY FAMILY, HAPPY KIDS, HAPPY AU PAIR! PLEASE READ, THANK YOU. I'm Talita, a 24-year-old Brazilian au pair (almost 25!) with nearly five years of experience! Over the past five years, I've cared for babies, toddlers and older children aged between 6 months and 13 years in Belgium, the UK, Denmark and Austria. I'm now looking for a kind family with whom I can build a genuine, long-lasting relationship! I love being the kind of person a child knows they can always count on, for hugs, protection, help and fun! I enjoy being part of their daily routine, helping with little things like playtime, homework, and creating a calm and happy environment at home. I believe children deserve kindness, patience and respect. They're still learning how to understand the world and their emotions, and I love being someone who helps them grow with confidence rather than fear. I'm 100% ready to throw myself into a new culture, a new experience and a new adventure! I love learning about different traditions and ways of life, treating them with respect, and becoming part of them while also sharing my own culture. Every new adventure is a chance to grow, and I truly believe that's one of the best parts of being an au pair. I’m also very organised and naturally tidy, and I’m always happy to do my part in keeping the house clean, cosy and running smoothly. I "work" remotely as an artist. I paint, make air-dry clay and polymer clay pieces, sew bags, and all sorts really. Every now and then I get custom orders, which I absolutely love! Art is probably the biggest part of how I connect with children. If your little one wants to be a fairy, we probably won't buy the costume, we'll build the wings ourselves with cardboard, glitter, glue, and lots of imagination, and we'll shine and fly around together! Tasks I’m comfortable doing with my host family: Here’s a little introduction to the household tasks I’m happy and comfortable helping with. There may be other things as well, but I thought this would give you a good idea of what I’m used to and what I’m happy to do. ⭐️Cleaning and tidying the areas I’ve used with the children: Preferably at the end of the day, because when I’m with the children, I’d rather focus on having fun and spending quality time with them, then tidy everything up once they’re in bed. That said, I would never leave things like LEGO or other toys on the floor where the children could hurt themselves. Absolutely not! ⭐️Washing and changing the children’s bed linen. ⭐️Doing the children’s laundry. ⭐️Tidying the children’s bedrooms: I always try to involve the children in this when possible, as I think it’s a great way to spark their curiosity and help them learn how to keep things organised properly. ⭐️Loading and unloading the dishwasher: again, with the children’s help whenever possible! ⭐️Cooking for the whole family occasionally, by occasionally, I mean around 2–3 times a week, preferably dinner. Ideally, this would be a task on its own rather than something I have to do while simultaneously keeping an eye on the children. Apart from being potentially dangerous, I don’t think it’s fair to expect an au pair to cook whilst also being responsible for the children at the same time. ⭐️Folding and putting away the children’s clothes. ⭐️Helping with pets: if the family has a pet, I’m happy to help with things like giving them food and water at the times the family normally feeds them. ⭐️Cleaning the table after meals: If I’m eating with the children and we’ve finished our meal, I’ll clean the table straight away. ⭐️Cleaning as I cook: When I’m cooking, yes, the kitchen might look a little chaotic for a moment… because honestly, who can cook and keep the kitchen perfectly clean at exactly the same time? But whilst things are cooking, I’ll wash up and tidy as much as I can, so that by the time the meal is ready, the kitchen is tidy again too. 😁 ⭐️Keeping an eye on food supplies: checking whether certain foods are running low and also checking whether there are any fruits or vegetables in the fridge that need to be eaten soon before they go off. 🌟A little personal habit of mine There’s one thing I naturally like doing in the evening that may or may not be something the family wants, so of course this would completely depend on your routine and whether you’re comfortable with it. After the children have gone to bed, I quite like preparing the breakfast table for the following morning. By that I mean putting out the plates, glasses and cutlery, as well as any foods that I know the children and family normally have for breakfast and that can safely be left out of the fridge. Then, in the morning, I’d simply put out the refrigerated things such as cheese, jam, butter, etc. It just makes the morning feel a little more organised and relaxed for everyone! And yes, I realise this would technically be after my working hours once the children are in bed, but I genuinely don’t consider THIS extra work or extra hours, so please don’t worry about that. It literally takes about 5 minutes, and it’s something I’m happy to do because I like starting the morning in an organised way. ⭐️Vacuuming certain areas when needed: Especially if I’ve had a meal with the children and there’s been a bit of a mess afterwards. However, I wouldn’t consider vacuuming the entire house to be one of my regular responsibilities. ⭐️My own room My bedroom will always be kept clean and organised. I change and wash my bed linen once a week, all of my clothes are always either folded or hanging up, and my plushies and other decorative items always have their own place. If I eat something in my room, I’ll either wash everything up straight after eating or, if it’s late and I don’t want to make noise, I’ll wash it the following morning. ⭐️Bathroom If I share a bathroom with the children, I’m happy to clean and tidy it around once every two weeks. Of course, there may be other little things that come up depending on the family and the routine, but I hope this gives you a small introduction and makes it easier to understand what I’m comfortable helping with. I’m currently spending some time with my family in Brazil and now and temporarily being a full-time mum to 3 rescued kittens, so taking care of others, whether humans or animals, is just part of who I am and my values. If you think we could be a good match, I'd absolutely love to hear from you, and perhaps be that extra pair of hands you need in your daily life. Nearly five years later, and I still haven't got tired of hearing, "Talita, come and look at this!" or "Can we play with Lego now?" Thank you so much for reading and I hope to hear from you very soon! NOTE: Unfortunately I don’t have a driving licence at the moment! For the time being, it's on hold because of some unexpected health issues affecting a very close family member.
