Hello! My name is Sydney Gills, and I am so excited to share my story with you. I come from a family that has always been dedicated to supporting and uplifting the youth in our community. Because of this, I have spent the last six years working in various childcare roles—it truly is what I do best. Whether it is through my work as a swim instructor, a lifeguard, a camp counselor, or assisting in youth programs, my goal has always been to help the next generation grow and thrive. With over six years of experience, I am very comfortable in high-energy environments and taking on significant responsibility. My time as a swim instructor and lifeguard has taught me to prioritize safety and stay calm under pressure, while my years as a camp counselor have given me a "toolbox" full of fun activities, games, and ways to engage children’s imaginations. I view childcare not just as a job, but as a way to make a positive impact on a child’s life. My connection to Ireland is deeply personal. My family has a rich Irish history, and I grew up hearing stories about our heritage. During my senior year of high school, I finally had the chance to visit, and I completely fell in love with the country—its beauty, its culture, and its people. Since the moment I left, my lifelong dream has been to return. Becoming an au pair in Ireland is the perfect intersection of my two greatest passions: caring for children and exploring the country I love most. I am eager to immerse myself in the local culture, meet new people, and become a helpful, reliable member of an Irish household. I am hoping to begin my journey in May 2026. I am looking for a family that I can support and grow with.
