PATRICIA, 19 ÅR

Hello!!! I’m Patricia from Mozambique and I am incredibly excited to embark on this au pair journey with you as a family. So, a few things about myself: I enjoy dancing, as a hobby and academically. I have been dancing since about the age of 4, specifically, modern dance and traditional Mozambican dance are my favourite subjects; I am actually going to finish my dance program in December and hopefully share some of my knowledge with you and your children. I love arts and crafts, especially activities involving painting and I am just getting started on my crocheting, mastering, and learning new stitching techniques. During my free time, I enjoy watching movies and television shows, my favourite genres being sci-fiction and dramas. Reading is a passion of mine, mostly fiction books, but I also appreciate amazing non-fiction ones like Michelle Obama’s 'Becoming' and Jennie Murray’s 'A History of the World in 21 Women.' I also like baking and do so routinely almost every weekend. Like many, I absolutely adore Disney movies and often get a little teary on movies like 'Encanto;' who doesn't? My interaction with children has mainly been within my family, with my baby cousins and family friends’ children, who I always have a great time with when they are around. I particularly enjoyed my visit to an orphanage earlier this year, as a community service project and had the opportunity to interact with children of all ages. From that experience, I was able to learn some skills from the children, and be more empathetic and open to sharing my skills and equally learning from others; especially during our devotion lessons. I am open to learning about different languages, cultures, and parenting styles from the one I was raised in and would love to share this learning and teaching experience with you.
