MARY, 23 ÅR

My name is Mary, but my friends and family call me Wamboo. I am a 22 years old girl, and I live in Nyeri, a small town in Kenya, a beautiful country in Africa. I'm an open-minded, hardworking, easy-going, dedicated, trustworthy, helpful, patient, and responsible person. I love taking care of kids, and their health, safety, and happiness are the most important to me. I've lived with my mother, who passed away in 2018, and my grandmother for as long as I can remember. My grandmother has taken care of me since I was a small child, and so she is like my second mom, and I love her very much. I did my high school in 2018, but I failed since that was when my mom passed away. I then joined Technical College in 2019 and was studying for hairdressing and beauty, but I had to drop out to school fees and coronavirus. I love travelling, learning new languages and different cultures, meeting new people, and definitely making memories. My very calm, collected, patient, and quick learning always comes in handy when dealing with challenging situations. I'd describe my strength as an Au pair as the ability to bond really well with kids and also blending in very easily and as a result being able to be their mentor in different aspects of life and also be like their big sister , also the ability to learn from my mistakes. I'd also describe my weakness as an au pair as having a hard time letting go of something or someone because I get too attached to children, especially and hence become emotionally hard to detach from them. I'm searching for a host family that would have me as a part of the family, be kind, welcoming, and who are willing to learn new culture and language. I am looking for a long time to stay with my host family for 1 year or more, depending on the connection formed with the family. I am really looking forward to hearing from you soon.
