PETER

Hi future au pair,
We are looking forward to meeting you and getting to know all about you and where you come from!
We are an international family, ourselves. Peter is from Denmark and I, Gabrielle, am from the U.S. We have two girls, Lily (4.5 years) and Everly (2.5 years) who are a lively, silly duo who enjoy crafting and artwork but also love running around and anything that involves dancing or being silly.
Peter works in finance and I work in a mix of marketing/writing/sales. Peter is more a steady science guy and I'm more of a creative hippy. Peter went straight through school and I took off after college to backpack the world (Europe, SE asia, Africa, and the Middle East) with my best friend. We both love travel, wine (biodynamic red wine is currently our thing), music (we recently renovated our house and installed built-in speakers everywhere so dance parties work excellently now in every room! :-), anything outdoors seeing beautiful nature or being active, and not gonna lie, ice cream is always in our freezer (we have a bit of an addiction).
Peter and I met in college when he studied abroad in the U.S. and he fell in love with the American way of life. So although there are bits of Scandinavian to our family, we are pretty American. And since I have lots of family around here, he becomes a bit out-numbered;-) We've gotten him into football now--Go Seattle Seahawks!--and he now sometimes wears running shoes with jeans (so American), enjoys hiking up mountains and camping in nature, and also has joined our addiction to Ben and jerry's icecream.
We can't wait to show you America and laugh with you at all the funny things you experience and see. We are open to you joining with us in as much as you'd like or doing your own thing and only joining in on occassion. We are an open, laidback, and cleanish household and look forward to you joining us on our upcoming year's adventures.
Our girls, Lily and Everly, are looking forward to showing you around and hopefully forming a cozy, happy relationship with you as their cool older "sister for a year" to guide them, teach them, and just have some fun!
