Hello! We are looking for an English native speaker au pair to come to our house to interact with our two sons Richie, now aged 4, and Ian aged 1.
I've been raising little Richie in English since he was born. But as I'm not native I've got some limitations, so I think it would be great for him to interact with a native speaker for a while!
We both work as a teacher and we are an easy going and flexible family that loves nature, rock climbing and having fun with our friends.
If you come to live with us for some months you can be sure we'll do all we can so you feel at home and enjoy being another member of the family. We appreciate that people want their own space and we'll try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
We need someone who can commit from the first of September to Christmas (or longer) because otherwise my wife would have to take some hours off work to drop him off to school, and she's only allowed to do that in whole terms.
WHERE WE LIVE:
We live on the outskirts of Zaragoza. It's the fifth biggest city in Spain, only 1.5 hours by train from both Madrid and Barcelona. It's a safe city with great transport, our house is about 20 mins from the centre by bus.
We usually go to the mountains at the weekend for rock climbing. ..and of course you'd be welcome to come. Weekends will be free unless you want to come with us.
WHAT WE EXPECT:
Our main purpose is clear: our kids' acquisition of the English language, so we expect you to speak only English with the kids (Ian will be one, so he can't interact that much, besides you won't have to look after him).
Duties would include taking Richie to school in the morning, picking him up at 1pm for lunch and dropping him back off at 3pm (as well as fetching him again at 16 some days). During this time you would feed him, play games or do other activities entirely in English.
He loves drawing, running, climbing, reading stories and he is fluent in English, so it wouldn't be too different from childminding in your country.
Evenings will vary depending on what your own schedule is like, we are flexible and we will try to make our best to make things easy for you.
You'll have your own room in our house, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible and remember, you'll be here to speak English with our boys....so don't worry, there will be no ironing or hoovering duties! We'd like you to feel at home and you'll be one of us during your stay. Our house is pretty comfortable, spacious, very bright and facing to a big park. The bus stop is one minute by foot.
Besides we know many people around that would like to hire you as English teacher for their kids, so you'd be likely to get some extra income money if you wanted to (this is up to you).
