We are a Danish family of four living in the most attractive suburb North of Copenhagen close to the woods and the ocean. In 20 minutes by train you are at the centre of Copenhagen. Both mum and dad are lawyers with very busy work lives. We have a girl aged 6 and a boy aged 9. Both kids are in school during the weekdays. In order to spend what little free time we have with out kids we have had au pairs for the last 6 years from Brazil to help us with practical house work. The ideal au pair for us is someone who understands our busy work life and who relieves us from house chores so that we can focus on our work and on our kids. For that reason we are an extremely disciplined family as otherwise we are unable to joggle/combine our work life with family life. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW AU PAIR WHO IS A EU NATIONAL AND HOLDS A EU CITIZENSHIP ONLY. As a consequence of our busy work life we need help with the following tasks: - cleaning and general housekeeping - cooking - babysitting - picking up kids from school and taking to sports activities - laundry and ironing We have a 400 square meters house divided into three floors. We offer spacious and private accommodation at separate floor (approx. 35 square meters) and own bathroom. Your bedroom and bathroom are nicely refurbished. We live in the most attractive suburb just North of Copenhagen (Gentofte) with proximity to the woods (5 minutes of the Tier Garden), the ocean (10 minutes from the beach) and 10 minutes' walk (5 minutes by bike ride) from the train station which provides you with easy access to Copenhagen (20 minutes and you are in the city centre). You can buy a bike at an affordable price (most Danes ride the bike) to get around the city easily. We spend most free time together as a family doing stuff the kids like or hang out with friends. We play tennis and use the Gym. In the summer time we spend most of our time in the garden or by the sea and frequently have barbecues. Our au pairs are invited to participate in family occasions and events (birthdays etc.), but are not required to participate and have no commitments in relation to these events. You are not expected to join vacations. We get up at 5 - 5.30 am and I shower and dress while my husband dress the kids and make breakfast for them. Then he showers and dresses and take the kids to school around 7 - 7.30 am. The au pair is expected to get up at 6.30 and prepare lunch boxes for the kids and tidy up after breakfast. Typically, the au pair will be expected to pick up the kids 4 times a week at 15 pm. I get home around 5 pm and my husband at 5.30 pm. We eat at 5.30 (because of the kids) and the au pair is expected to cook 4 times a week. Our au pairs also help showering the kids. We then play with the kids until its time for bed. The au pair is expected to tidy up the kitchen around 18:15ish. After this, the au pair does not have any other commitments. The kids go to bed around 7 pm. The Danish rules and regulation on the au pair scheme allows au pairs in Denmark to work 30 hours per week which is what we need. Monthly allowance is DKK 4,850 in addition to food and accommodation. In addition you have 5 weeks of paid holiday per calendar year and paid for Danish language class. We need help in the morning from 06:30 until 08:00. Then there is general housekeeping, laundry and ironing before noon and work again from 15-18:30. We can provide info on the specific house chores requested and the time schedule which our au pair currently have. We are a very organised and tidy family and we are looking for a very organised and tidy au pair with an eye for detail and who is very diligent - preferably for a period of 24 months but a minimum of 12 months is also workable. We are looking for someone who takes pride in her work and has high work ethics. You need to be good at cleaning, cooking and enjoy being around kids. It is very important that you like kids and are able to play with kids and is a very responsible adult. Additionally, you need to enjoy to clean and cook - otherwise being an au pair in Denmark is not for you. On a general basis you will not be expected to work nights (after 19 o'clock) or on weekends, however, we may need help with babysitting once in a while.
