We are a friendly, creative and outgoing Danish family of 5 persons: Jakob 4 years, Karoline 6 years, Frederikke 9 years, Hans and Line living in Hamburg, Germany.

My husband works for a renewable energy company (Vestas) firm and I for a jewelry company (Pandora). As we are two working parents both sometimes having traveling duties or a bit long hours at work, we have had amazing au pairs / nannies for the last 7 years to help us taking care of our three very sweet kids and helping out with various tasks such as cooking nice food and tidying up.

We have deliberately chosen to have someone else taking care of the weekly cleaning so as to make sure that you have the time to focus mostly on the kids. A typical day would be helping out with getting the kids up and ready for school, taking them there, picking them up again and looking after them in the afternoon playing, having fun inside or outside, doing homework etc. and preparing dinner (kids love to help out with the cooking as well:-) All 3 kids attend the international School and speak English and Danish.
During the day there may be a need for some grocery shopping and light tidying up. No work on weekends – time off for you to have fun and relax:-)

I was myself an Aupair in 2001 in Australia and through that, I have gained insights into how you as a family make sure that the stay as au pair is a good and valuable experience for both parties. You can either be living in with us or be living on your own. We will be providing you with a car for bringing kids to and from school but obviously also OK to use the car for other relevant purposes (valid driver’s license required). If you want to live in with us you will be getting your own nice big room and bathroom.
