Dear Au Pair,
I hope this letter finds you well! Warmly welcome to Beijing China.
We are a family of 3. My husband is a businessman and therefore travels a lot. If he is at home, he loves to take care of the vegetable garden in our backyard and playing Weiqi, a Chinese game. If you are interested, he surely will be happy to teach it to you.

Our son is six years old now and in grade two. He is very energetic and always curious about new things. He loves many kinds of sports: football, basketball, swimming... He is also learning drum kit and chess. Also, he likes listening to stories very much. We hope you can read to him often and teach him how to read, too.

I just started going back to work and therefore I will be gone until the afternoon. Our beloved son will be in school then, so you can use your time visit the local university to learn Mandarin in the morning hours. I am sure you will love it. All of our former au pairs did.

In our family, there is also a housekeeper. She helps us to cook and do other housework. From time to time my parents come for a visit as well to live with us. This is normal in Chinese culture so we hope you can understand.

We already had four au pairs. Two of them are from Germany and we celebrated Christmas together last year in Germany. As you can see, we really are looking for you being our family member, not just someone to stay with us and teach our son. We will do our best to make your au pair experience unforgettable.
