SUWACHI, 26 JAHRE

Hi, my name is Suwachi Kaeoraksa, originally from Surin but currently living in Bangkok, Thailand. I live in a family of 4: my mother, older sister, nephew and I. I currently work as a facebook marketing agent for Mazda MARCS, part time. My mother works as a housemaid in Bangkok. In addition, she performs urban farming on weekends.

I graduated from Ramkhamheang University, majoring in English, in December 2020. During which, I had the opportunity to travel to the United States, working as a culinary staff member at an amusement park called “Six Flags Over Texas” for 3 months. It was a lot of fun! As I met and befriended many students from different countries. Honestly, that was probably the most memorable time I can think of being overseas, and reminded me of how much I enjoy working with children.

If I may, I’d describe myself as an open-minded, friendly, talkative and flexible person. This I accredit to being surrounded by loving and supportive family members. As a result, learning how to live peaceably with others and, when given the chance, share my optimism and faith with those around. Some notable hobbies of mine are swimming, jogging, biking trails and camping, road-trips to remote villages and resorts, and taking care of my pets.

Sometimes I volunteer as an assistant teacher at the University. I have also trained and continue to train as a childcare staff member at the Kido Ramkhamhaeng Pre-School Center; surpassing 400 hours and helping to care for 18 children, 7 at a time, separated into age groups. Some of my responsibilities included ensuring the children were fed on time and appropriately, bathing and changing diapers, as well as putting some to sleep for nap time.

The classes were safely furnished with soft surfaces as well as training rails to support the smaller children who were in the process of learning how to balance themselves when moving. I loved playing with them, and with the outpost care, guided their initial steps. I sung and talked with them (even if it were a “baby language” haha) and read them many stories. I encouraged them to call out the surrounding elements and allowed time to do more personal activities. For example: painting, coloring, crafting, dancing along with the music and playing sports while keeping a watchful eye on their endeavors.
I, sometimes, also take care of my nephew at home . I took on the responsibility to provide my sister any necessary aid in looking after him since he was 5 months. The same was done with my friend’s niece. I did many similar activities as it were at the Pre-School. It can be a lot of work, but my previous experiences provided much help during the process.

Having been also trained in basic life support and first aids for children at the Kinderville EduCare Center, I am confident to the outmost that I can be a good Au Pair.

I wish to partake in the Au Pair Switzerland program to not only improve my English comprehension and learn Dutch as a third language, but also to learn as much as I can from Switzerland culture and society, a longed for dream of mine. In learning your way of life, I wish to share mine as well!

On completion of the Au Pair program, I seek to return to Thailand to work in the tourism industry, specifically with commercial airlines as well as a teacher at my hometown, using both English and Dutch in these future endeavors.
