Dear host family,

It’s nice to meet you and thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Wijittra , shortly as Palm. I am a 24- year old Uni student from Naresuan University (majoring in English) and I had been an au pair in Sweden ( Stockholm ) for a year ( from June2017-June2018) and I would like to be aupair again after I graduate. I would like to become an Au pair in Europe because I have interests for European culture and its long history. I am a big fan of some famous people in the past like Leonardo Davinci and William Shakespeare because I am into drawing and novels.

I see Au pair program as a suitable cultural exchange program for me because I have big adoration for children and want to get to do a job that is child related at the same time, I can try new things and see the world in wider aspect. Au pairing offers me just that opportunity.

Concerning childcare experience, I trained at a daycare every day, 6-7 hours/ day or 25-35 hours/week, looked after 105 children both male and female, in last July 2016 for one month, I have been a freelance nanny for foreign family coming to Thailand for traveling or working, and I also was an aupair in Stockholm, Sweden for a year and I found myself I really love being with kids. My responsibility is to take care of children general well being and safety, teach them general knowledge for kids, play and do activities with them. Apart from, learning childcare skills and knowledge, I learned to understand children psychology and their behavior better. I become more conscious about their safety and emotions. I learned to handles with different situation properly to make them learn their boundary. Personally, I don't believe punishing children physically is an effective way of child upbringing. For me, I use communication and rewarding techniques to them. Also as I am their babysitter, it’s my duty to be a good role model for them who is monitoring them what is good or bad.

As an Au pair, I am willing to do almost all kind of housework that you may need my help with and although western world has quite different cleaning techniques from Thailand, I am confident I can learn proper cleaning and how to use cleaning equipment. When it comes to playing with children the kind of playing that brain or creativity stimulating such as role play, cards or board game, painting, dancing, singing which is something I am capable of. I am also energetic and outdoor-type of girl so I can simply company them to a park or open-air playground.

What makes me believe I am going to make a suitable au pair is my cheerful and positive attitude. I believe nothing else is more important than good attitude. Besides, I can say that due to my ability to get along with children as well as knowing how to take care of them added up further potential. I have energy and mature with good sense of responsibility. I am out-going and confident in my own skin, so to adapt myself to my host family and the country is not a hard work at all.

I am a hard-working, patient, warm-hearted and organized person, with this character I believe I can do well as a babysitter or Au Pair. I am flexible and always want to help you when you need me. I am open-minded and ready to be communicative in order to live a smooth life with your family.

The only thing I expect from my future host family is that they can truly treat me like a part of the family and that they are understanding, supportive and have interest for my culture. That’s all I need, really.

My plan after the program is I want to study abroad, if possible I would choose country like England. I like the country, its culture as well as the fact that it’s an English speaking country so It’s a good chance for me to improve my English skills which would benefit me so much in terms of a better choice for future profession.

So yes, if you think I am suitable and if you are interested in Thailand and its culture. I can be a good representative of my country and show you uniqueness of Thai culture and lifestyle.
