ÁMBAR, 26 JAHRE

Dear host family,
My name is Ámbar Ferreira, I am 20 years old and I'm originally from Venezuela, but when I was 3 years old my parents decided to move to Spain. I've been raised in Tenerife, Canary Islands, in the north specifically, a place where you can find wondeful and very interesting touristic places. My mother has 6 siblings and my father has 4 brothers and 5 sisters so we can say I have a big family, I've been always surrounded by children and I get use to it so I get along very well with them. My aunts always used to trust me to take care of my little cousins, when they had things to do, I used to look after them, even babies, I have so much experience feeding them, changing nappies, etc. Also there was a year, that I even get paid because I helped 2 hours each day my cousin with the school homework.
I'd describe myself as fun and adventurous person, I'm hardworking, punctual, responsable and open to new knowledge. On the other hand, I like sports a lot, I played basketball during 6 years until I had a serious knee injury, nowadays I just play with friends but I don't play federated, is more like a hobbie. I like listening to music and I love animals.
When I finished high school, I tried to start a career but after weeks I realized that I wasn't sure that is something I would like to do for the rest of my life so I stopped and I was just in a oficial school of Languages and I worked as a waitress. After being studying english few days per week, I realized that my personal life goal is to learn languages and find a job where I have to be involved with foreign people, and speak different languages. 
For me become an au pair somewhere in Europe was an exceptional chance to develop my english in the spoken part and also to discover world, know new places, meet different people and learn about the culture.
Currently I am working as au pair in a lovely town called Vieux-Ferrette, in France, since August 2017. Fortunately we are so close the fronteer so I've been in Germany and Switzerland as well, something that for me is really great because at some point you have intercultural places where you find people from all over the world. My host family here speak english and german and I have to say that I'm so thankful because since I started living with them as a family member and share moments with them I learned a lot how to speak english, even german, I learned so many words and expressions. In my host family there are two kids, the littest one is 11 months now and is incredible how he grown up since I'm here, and the 3 years old girl. My daily duties are wake the girl up, make her breakfast, and get her ready for school, drop her off, while she is at school, I tidy the rooms and the house up, I hoover every day and 2 days per week I mop the floor in the whole house, I wash the dishes and of course I clean my own bathroom. Then I pick her up, we have lunch and afterwards it depends, before she used yo have 1 hour and 30 minutes nap, but she is growing and she is starting to not need it, so now she just has lunch nap when she is tired. Then we do things toguether, we play with her toys, we make puzzles, we draw or we paint, when is nice weather I always take her to the playground with her bike . We actually have lot of fun every day. So basically my contract will finish in May and I and after my first experience as au pair with this family I'd like to have another year with this experience to keep learning the languages and the culture, and knowing more places, but especially, next year, I'd really like to study german and go to a course in my free time.
