SOFÍA, 23 JAHRE

Hello. My name is Sofía. I’m 17 years old. I’m from Uruguay but I’m currently living in Spain.

I’m ready to work hard but also play and live new experiences.

Also, I wanted to say that, for now, I can only stay during the summer time. Maybe I’ll take a gap year and work for a whole year as an Au Pair. I could start in mid June, right after I finish my college entrance exams.

I’m an easygoing girl. I like to be organized and constant in my everyday work. Even though I may seem serious and not very funny at first, I’m nice and agreeable. I love to make people laugh and have fun.

I’m kind of an artist. I love to sing, play the guitar and the ukelele, dance and perform. The problem is that I get shy and I’m afraid that I will do it wrong, but I enjoy it anyway. When I’m having a good time, it doesn’t matter.

I also love to read. It’s my main source of fun and knowledge besides school. I love how books can take you to different worlds and enjoy a lot experiences without having to pay a lot for it. My favorite types of books are fantasy, romance and dystopian novels, even though I read almost everything.

I love eating and cooking. They're two of my favorite things to do. I enjoy them a lot. My favorite dishes are gnocchi and cannelloni.
I also like baking. I bake almost every week something to eat in the afternoon: biscuits, pies and cakes, cupcackes... I know how to prepare healthy and varied meals and delicious desserts and snacks.

I'm atheist and I respect every religion and everything related to it. I don't mind going to church if I have to.

I'm actually on the last year of high school. Next year I will study Physics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona or another university. I’m a huge fan of science and philosophy. I would love to study Law but I don’t think that lifestyle is for me. I would love to work abroad, so the au pair experience will help me a lot.

I’ve only been abroad 2 times. The first time was 15 years ago when my family moved from Uruguay to Spain. The second time was 2 years ago when I went with some friends to Venezia, Italy. I’d love to live abroad and explore different cultures and countries and also learn a lot of languages.

I speak fluently 2 languages: Spanish and Catalan. I speak as good as I like to think (and as you can see by my writing skills): English (I’m really trying). And I can speak a little bit of German, French and Italian.

I’ve always liked spending time with kids and help them in their lives. I like to play with them, read them stories and basically entertain them. When I was 10 or so I entered a group of people that helped younger kids reading and understanding what they were reading. I also played some school plays that were presented to the whole school. I haven’t babysitted anyone except my brother and my little cousins, but I’ve played a lot with the children of my parents’ friends and kids at school.
