Dear Family
Hi, I'm Kim ! I will soon be 18 years old and cannot wait to begin this journey. I am a fluent English speaker, my second language is Afrikaans ( a Germanic language ) and I have a very basic understanding of Danish.
I grew up in a Danish family as my mother is Danish as well as my grandfather on my dad's side of the family. My family and I absolutely love to travel and try to often - I have been overseas several times including Bali, United Kingdom and Denmark (I have visited Denmark a total of 3 times).
I consider myself a very organised person with a drive to do well in my school work. I am currently completing my final year of High School and hope to aupair in 2020. From the young age of 10 I sparked an interest in baking and hope to attend a culinary school where I will study to become a professional pastry chef, that is the dream at least, but I am working towards doing so.
Due to the fact that my mother is Danish, it gives me the opportunity to go to Denmark for a period of time in order to qualify to receive my Danish nationality. I thought I would use this opportunity to become an aupair and make valid use of my time in Denmark, as well as gain some independence by being away from my immediate family for so long. Although I do not have much experience working with kids, I do love them, and I am optimistic and ready to learn the ins and outs of what it is like to care for a child/children, in order to prepare myself for that one day.
