JASEEL MAE, 27 JAHRE

Dear host family, I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Jaseel Mae Alcano. I am 26 years old and from Bukidnon in Philippines. My parents, Jay (50) and Jocelyn (49), and my sisters Ansherina (21) Trishia (20), I am currently living and working here in Thailand. I’ve been here in Thailand since 2019 to work abroad so that I can help my family’s expenses specially to help my both sisters to provide allowances needed to their studies. My father works as a labor man, my mother as a business woman. Ansherina is currently attending 3rd year Office Administration course in a university. Trishia is currently attending 1st year Education course in same university with my other sister. Overall, we are a pretty large family, I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; as well as my family (before when I was in the Philippines) they are very important to me. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me. In my free time, I like to listen to music, dancing, vlogging, running outside or watching movie. Making videos in YouTube and Instagram is one of my favorite hobbies. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing- even though I cannot sing. At the moment, I work as a secondary Social Studies and Physical Education teacher here in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I enjoy this job very much, because I am able to bond with many of my students. Get to know about them, and sharing each other’s culture differences. For the past fifteen years my mum was working abroad in Dubai, so only me, dad, and my sisters living together. I took care of my siblings together with my dad. I do some household chores such as cleaning, cooking, washing the dishes and clothes, sending and picking up them at school etc. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. I have found out how much fun it is to have a younger sibling around. Though this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have a children around, and one of the reasons why I pursue to become a Teacher. I can’t imagine a life without them.
