MARY JANE, 27 JAHRE

Hei I'm 25 years old from the Philippines and working as a medical social worker in a government hospital for almost three years. The people around me would agree that I am an optimistic, patient, outgoing and goal-oriented person. Because of the line of my work, where I am more exposed to other's life struggles, I become more aware of my inner self as a strong and understanding individual. I completed a four-year bachelor’s degree in social work, and received my license in 2018, and I am now employed as the section head of the medical social service unit of one of our government hospitals in the Philippines. I enjoy photography, something about nature, a significant event in life, and of course cooking, which I do love experimenting with when I am free from work. I also enjoy reading facts about the world and watching through-to-life documentaries. Caring for a child has been part of my daily life as I am living with my big sister who has a 5 years old son. We used to go out to the nearest playground, following him while he was biking around and taking care of him when his parents were out working. My first language is Tagalog, and I have relatively good communication skills in English, as it is my second language here in the Philippines. I used English to communicate with some of our clients, as well as in completing some paperwork. As I have read about aupair definition, it will be about learning about other cultures and norms. As an aupair I will be living with a host family where I am going to help mostly with house chores and children. I am expecting that by doing so, then I will be learning the culture from the host family itself first, most especially from the children. Learning about other cultures and norms would probably give me a broader knowledge of respecting and accepting other cultures' differences. This opportunity might help me to be a better and more open-minded person. Some unforgettable experiences and learnings I can bring home when I go back to the Philippines. I don't drink that much; alcohol is something I can drink but don't enjoy much. I don't and never smoke cigarettes. Best regards Mary Jane Dagli
