Dear Host Family, I am Gerne Boja, a 25-year-old female from the Phillippines. I would like to express my desire to be part of your lovely family and be of help in your day-to-day activities. I am an energetic individual how loves the outdoors. I consider myself creative as I have an interest in any hobby relating to arts and crafts and would be willing to learn anything detailed-oriented. I also love cooking and baking treats for my friends and family. Like most Filipinos, I regard my family as the most important part of my life. It is in this small unit that I have learned to be independent, hard-working, and respectful towards others. As an aunt to a 1-year-old niece and a member of a significantly large extended family with many young kids, I grew up being surrounded by babies and toddlers. This is why I have developed a deep passion for children and child care. I believe that this stage in their lives is vital in their development as young adults and as future contributing members of society. My academic and work experiences in media information and government work have trained me to be adaptive to any situation. Also, dealing with clients from different walks of life has developed my interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail which will be one of the many qualities that would help me work with you efficiently and effectively. I will gladly help care for your child, show her love and affection, accompany her to and from school, and assist with her homework and other extracurricular activities. I would also be glad to lend an extra hand in household chores such as cooking and cleaning. It will also be with great delight that I will be able to learn about your family's traditions and your nation's culture. This experience would be a great opportunity for me to build my character as I would be exposed to a vastly different culture. After this experience, I would love to go back to my home country and open up a small cafe, serving farm-to-table meals inspired by different dishes from all over the world. As an aspiring Au Pair, I will be grateful for a chance to work with you.
