Dear host family,

Greetings!

I would like to express my great interest about cultural exchange program and open to learn new culture. I am confident that I not only possess everything necessary for the role but also believe that it would be a great opportunity for me to further develop my skills and boost my personal development.

My name is Mariz Guntan, but you can call me Riz. I’m 21 years old, single, and currently living in Romblon, Philippines. I finished senior high school last April 2019 and now taking up bachelor in Secondary Education. We are 5 in the family. I have 2 older sisters and I am the youngest. We live in a peaceful place close to beach and lots of green sceneries. We also have pets, 8 cute cats and 1 friendly dog. I am mature independent person who grew up in a simple life surrounded with happy and loving people.

My personality is very simple with so much respect and trust. I know how to deal with the demand of others and can handle with pressure. I am not really a religious person but very spiritual. I am also an outgoing person, creative, caring, patient, very organized, responsible, open-minded, hardworking and very passionate in work.

My hobbies are playing sports, cooking, traveling, making artworks, singing and dancing (not good on both, only serve as my stress reliever). I like to spend my free time in nature (taking pictures), biking, eating, and playing with kids. It gives me joy and peace of mind.

My summer job experience includes being a babysitter and a housekeeper in a resort. I worked in a small family with 2 children Ryu (3) and Sam (7). My duties were feeding, clothing and bathing, making beds, playing with them, and doing housework like cleaning, laundry, and washing dishes. As of now, I help my cousin to take care of her 2 sweet and loving girls, Kacey and Espe. I am very passionate working with kids and nurturing. I treat them as my own kids and help them in everything. I know how to get their attention, calm, and comfort them when they feel sick or upset. As a child grow, they need guidance and support to encourage and foster their development. It is quite challenging but very fulfilling knowing that you teach/help them in every aspect of their lives.

I might not have a certificate or attended any childcare training programs but I strongly believe that I will be a big help in your family. I know how to cook/prepare meals and do house chores (cleaning, washing dishes, laundry and ironing) because my family trained me as early at the age of 8. I can help you in your family daily routine, look after your kids, and contribute to your different social activities.
