Dear Host Family,

I hope the family is doing well.

My name is Kimberly, you can call me "Kim or Kimbe", 23 yrs old , living in the Philippines. I graduated last 2018 at Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration major in Marketing Management. I have 4 siblings , 3 brothers and an older sister. Our parents separated when I was 11 yrs old and we all stayed in my mother's care. I am used to a simple way of living for my mother is a laborer who financially supported us during those times. I am a simple dedicated person. I am proud of myself for I have developed a character of being independent, honest for who I am, what I have and what I can do. I am currently working as a Customer Service Representative in Manila, I am somehow supporting them by giving additional capital for our small sari sari store (retail store) in the province as their source of daily income.

For my childcare experiences, I used to look after my nephew and little brother since their day 1. My nephew's mother who is my sister (single mother) went abroad to work when he was 2yrs old , I also have my 1yr old brother that time , my mother and I were responsible providing love and care for the 2 kids. I prepare breakfast for the kids before going to school. Play with them, prepare milk, bath them, change diaper, clean them and even prepare them to sleep. I taught them how to draw lines and shapes, write their names , teach alphabet, help my nephew with his assignments and since kids like outdoor activities and would love to play with other kids too I have to go with them and look after them. I also have other experiences with other kids for I used to look after my little cousins and I have volunteered teaching kids in church when I was in high school during Flores de Mayo celebration every month of May. I was once a youth President in our community and I was responsible planning activities for the youth like clean up drive, competitions and other activities.

I want to be an au pair for this is a one time great experience for me to improve myself by knowing other cultures, other languages, visit places, experience life in other countries and it would be very nice to be part of another family. I am prepared and well aware of the fact that becoming your family's au pair, I am responsible to stand as a sister to your children , be the one to teach them, protect them and attend to their needs, and perform some household chores. I understand that there will be challenges and I am ready for it. I will be the matured and responsible type of an au pair that you can rely on.
