JOAN, 30 JAHRE

Dear Host Family,

I hope you are all doing well and safe during this pandemic.

Always Rejoice! We will stand as one.

I am Joan Rose from the Philippines. I am currently working as business development specialist in a local company here in the Philippines.I am the eldest among my 4 siblings. I am the solely provider for my siblings since my mom died in December 2015 from Lupus. You might think that I had a tough time working and taking care of my siblings at the same time, it’s true but it’s a fulfilling joy that I was able to help them grow. Now that they are all grown-ups and can manage themselves, I must say I am free to do the thing I wanted to do which is “traveling”.

I had visited some neighboring countries like Macao, Hong Kong and Singapore in 2018, I must say it’s a wonderful experience to see the diversities of people, culture and their food. I am open to know more about different cuisines and places. I am happy whenever I see the satisfaction on their faces when they eat the food I made as well as the beautiful picturesque places.

Moreover, I am deeply interested in knowing the history of one place, the art of nature and language. I am trying to teach myself some basic words of Spanish and German through the duolingo app. I think one best way to pay respect is to know some words of the natives.

I think the most practical way to enjoy and experience those things is being an AU pair. It reminds me my younger self, taking care of my little sister and brothers made me the person who I am today. I know that taking care of the kids isn't easy but I guarantee you it’s one of the best way of stress reliever, you see the kids growing and smiling at you remembering you as their elder sister who will protect and care for them is the best feeling 😊

As much as I wanted to tell you more about myself, let’s save it for later.
