ELLEN, 24 JAHRE

Hello!

My name is Ellen and I'm 20 years old (turning 21 in May). I'm from a little village in Belgium called Koersel.

First of all, I love to travel a lot! Second of all, I love taking care of children or entertain them. So I think I would be a great au pair. I'm very curious for 'the abroad' and I wanna explore as much as possible, and I think it's so awesome to do something like that while working with children.

Since I'm still in school, I can only be an au pair for a short period. The earliest I can leave Belgium is July 22. I can stay for about a month and a half, cause I need to be back in Belgium at the latest September 6. I really hope that this isn't an issue, cause I'm really looking forward to spend my summer abroad.

I still go to college in Diepenbeek, I study orthopedagogy, it's actually medical pedagogy. It's a very social course because that's what I'm most comfortable with and what I do best.

I'm a very friendly, social and open person and I love to go on adventures and take risks. I love to travel and explore the world and go to places I've never been before. To get to know other cultures and languages, for me that is the most awesome feeling there is. When I was in high school, I studied in a foreign country for three months. I went to the Czech Republic and it was the most wonderful thing I ever did. I think that is where it all started and where my wanderlust began.

I'm also very good with kids. Since I was 5 years old, I'm a member at the Youth Movement in our neighborhood. Now I'm in my third year of leader. At the Youth Movement we come together every Sunday and play some games the whole day. My first year I was leader of the first and second graders, last year I was leader for the youngest group (5-8 years old) and this year I'm having the oldest group (17-18 years old). I also teached gymnastics to toddlers and primary school kids when I was 15-16 years old. And I'm babysitting since I was 14. I go babysitting in lot's of places, but I have one regular family with three children (6-8-10 y/o), where I go every Thursday.

I'm also a very active person, I don't like to sit still or do nothing all day. I work a lot after my school hours and if I'm not working I like spending time with my family and friends. They are the most important people in my life and I would to everything for them. I'm also very creative, so when I'm alone most of the time I'm drawing or painting, ... As long as I can be busy!

I can speak English and Dutch, I never really learned any other language, but I'm interested to learn. I also have a driver licence. I got it the day after I turned 19.
