Hola, Hello, Bonjour!
This is Valeria from Mexico and I would love to be not only your next au pair, but your new big sister!
I am young girl who loves traveling around the world and learning about new cultures. So far I have visited Costa Rica, Canada, the US, Denmark and Sweden.
I joined Girl Scouts when I was 15yo and after a couple of years I became a Girl Scout leader. Thanks to this experience I developed a big love for nature and social justice and social skills such as leadership and appreciation of new cultures (and yes, Girl Scout cookies are yummy!)

ABOUT ME
I am an outgoing young girl who likes adventures, nature and is passionate about social justice and the environment.
I am an easy going girl, love having fun with kids and believe that education is the key to a better world. I love being in the outdoors hiking or going on a bike ride but also being indoors playing hide and seek, Rummikub and UNO (hands down the best player ever).

EDUCATION
I grew up in a multicultural city, located in the US-Mexico border and had the opportunity to learn English since Elementary School.
I just got my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Organizational Psychology. I studied abroad in Canada for a semester, that's where I first learned french. I'm still learning french and would love to get a Masters Degree in Gender Studies, Cultural Psychology or Education, there are so many choices!

I've been a volunteer in several different NGO's such as Girl Scouts USA, Girl Scouts México (Girl Guides), Boys and Girls Club, California's Children Hospital and other local NGOs.


EXPERIENCE
For three years I was teaching English and Math to girls and boys from 5yo-8yo.
I was also a nanny during the weekends and sometimes during the week, taking care of two little girls (2yo and 8yo).
Fun fact about me: I used to be a girl scout! I completely loved being a GS! Going camping, running, so much fun activities! When I was 18 years old I became a girl scout leader and had the opportunity to help other girls to discover their full potential by doing educational activities such as singing, teaching leadership, doing outdoor sports and even traveling around the world!

WHY AU PAIR?
I would love to be an au pair because I believe that is a great way to apply what I've learned during my B.A. about human development. Having the opportunity to share my culture and learn about different cultures.
I also wanna keep learning new languages and I think that the best way of doing it is by traveling.
I do not want to be "just an au pair" I really want to be part of your family, learn your language and share my culture with my new family.

I would love to be part of a family that welcomes me as a new "big sister" because I would love to feel like I'm in my second home and not just as an au pair.
I would love to spend my free time traveling around Europe and meeting new people.
Learning the language is very important to me so I would love help in practicing but also sharing my own language with you if that's what you want.
I would also like to be part of a family that cares about the environment, social issues and gender equality.


OTHER INFO
As I follow a healthy life style I would really appreciate if my host family respects my eating habits (vegan diet).

I do have a valid driver's license, I've been driving for 5+ years and have never had a ticket
