LAURA, 28 JAHRE

My name is Laura Arboleda, and I am 26 years old. I am from Bogota, the capital of Colombia, I would like to share with you the most important things about my life, in that way you will know me better. I identified myself as a neatly, organized, respectful, peaceful, positive, helpful, empathetic, and responsible girl. Since I was a little girl, I have characterized myself as a creative person (I love crafts and drawing). In addition, I am a happy, lovely, dynamic, hard worker, cheerful, loyal, and very unconditional girl. Currently, I live with My father, Fernando, who is 64 years old and works in the construction area. My mother, Nubia is 54 years old and owns a restaurant of traditional Colombian food. Also, I live with My little brother, Juan Fernando, who is 12 years old and currently studying in high school. My older sister, Maria Paula, is 30 years old and is a civil engineer. In addition, She and her boyfriend have a dog called Villye, who is also an important family member. My family is the most important thing to me. Talking a bit more about me, I graduated from high school in 2013, after that, I finished my professional degree as an architect (2019). I am a passionate architect who loves painting, dancing, watching movies, playing sports (especially tennis), and listening to music. In addition, I like cooking. My Little brother says that my best dish is homemade pasta. Lastly, but not less important, I love the animals, particularly cats, now I have three beautiful adopted cats. I have had experience taking care of kids for my family since I was a kid. I always offered my help to take care of more youthful family members, particularly my little cousin Juan Manuel. After him, I became a big sister, and I could not be happier. Since the born of my little brother, I remember enjoying taking care of him, playing games with him, but also, helping him with his homework. Since I was a kid, I liked doing social activities, such as supporting and taking care of the kids that went to the church with their parents. In my professional practices, I had the opportunity to support social workers with the Maipore Community Children. There, they had children between 3 to 12 years old. As part of the various activities that I developed there, I can highlight doing craft activities, sharing meals with the kids, and playing games to integrate the community. I supported a kinder garden called zona pedagogical for two months. There I took care of children from 1 to 6 years old. At that time, we did activities like planting plants, playing in the park, giving them lunch, and supporting the teachers in the different activities. Right now, I am part of a community where I prepare to be an Au Pair. In this place, I am participating in psychopedagogy, neuroeducation, and pedagogy workshops. Besides, I am putting into practice all these workshops by taking care of 2 beautiful girls, the oldest one is 11 years old, and the youngest one is eight years old; I help them in the afternoons with their homework mainly, taking them to their gymnastics and music class. When the girls don’t have much homework, and we have free time, we love building Legos, reading books, and listening to music. Since forever, I have liked to contribute and give my grain of sand to society, and there is no better way to do it than helping the ones who will become the future of society, The children. I want to give my best every day, doing every moment significant for their future. The Au Pair program would let me step up my level of English, and will open the possibility of learning a third language. These will contribute to improving my professional and personal profile. In addition, the opportunity of knowing Europe, which has always been my big dream as an architect, learning about new cultures, and new countries, are one of my biggest motivations, and what better than doing it hand to hand with kids. I am glad to help the family by taking care of the children like my own, while the parents do their daily activities. I will be more than happy sharing and show my Colombian culture with you and your family and teaching the kids my hometown language. However, I am sure this experience is the perfect opportunity to learn about your culture. I would like to share that my native language is Spanish, but I also have a basic level of English (I can read, write, speak, and listen) which allows me to have basic conversations and write essential texts. I would adore being part of a lovely family and having a great experience and unforgettable moments with my future host family. I am sure they will become an meaningful part of my life forever, and I hope I can be the right person to take care of your kids. I appreciate the time we will spend together.
