AUMA, 30 JAHRE

My name is Auma from Nairobi Kenya currently living in Helsinki as an Au pair. I have a diploma in Public Relations graduated in 2015. After my graduation I have worked as a customer service provider at a call center. My most recent job was a receptionist at a clinic where I was in charge of running daily to daily routines of the Clinic. My Contract ended on July 2019 and I opted not to renew my contract because I wanted to explore and learn other things.
It was during my job break that i decided to google and research about Au pair and I thought to myself, wow !! this exactly what I want to do now! and that is how i got to Finland. I have always been interested in learning different cultures and people’s way of living. The au pair opportunity has not only give me a chance to travel to other parts of the World but it will also enabled me to socialize with people from different parts of the World.
I come from a family of 8, 6 siblings and I am the last born. Growing up in my village was the happiest and fulfilling moments in my life. My mother taught me the basics at a very young age! In most African communities they believe that it takes a village to raise a child and so I was raised by my entire family and extended as well.
I can say I am perfectly comfortable to take care of a child, all my life from the age of 8 I was able to babysit! My elder sister had her first child when I was 8 and since then I developed love for kids. I learnt how to bath, feed, play and put a baby to sleep. by the time I was joining high school I could comfortably take care of my 3 nieces by then. I used to be fully responsible for them whenever I was home for school breaks.
As we speak now, I can say I have more than 10yrs experience with kids!
My current job as an Au pair includes taking care of a 4 yr old and 1 1/2 yr old. I pick and drop them at kindergarten , bath and help with meals. I also clean the house and organize laundry I am generally a clean person and I value personal hygiene as much as my surroundings.
I love outdoor activities and I actually started yoga and I love it. I love going to the museums and sometimes just taking a walk and appreciating what nature has to offer. I am very outgoing and a good communicator. I find it so easy to approach and talk to people. I am also very happy and optimistic person. I always try and see good in every situation and I am also a good character reader but not quick to judge at the same time.
This is what I can write at the moment, I believe if fate crosses our path and we get to meet we shall have and make good memories and great moments. Before I forget I speak fluent Swahili and my native language (Luo). I look forward to meeting you Family.
