ANN, 30 JAHRE

Hello future host family! My name is Ann. I am excited at the prospect of being an Aupair for your family! I look forward to being of help with your child(ren) and also be able to authentically learn your language and culture. I am 28 years old and I am from Nairobi, Kenya. I am an only child in my family but I was raised together with my cousins. Currently I (you could include your current job) and volunteer at a children's home in my neighborhood where I take care of kids during the weekends. Growing up I enjoyed watching The Three-Day Nanny and unsurprisingly, I still enjoy the show. I enjoy the show a lot because it continuously showcases how children are naturally curious and always willing to learn just as much as adults. Working with children in the children’s home has taught me this first hand and seeing it on TV just shows how universally true it is and I strongly believe that it is our responsibility to guide them. I truly enjoy seeing children discover little things yet huge milestones in their world. Secondly, children are very independent. A big part of what they need is a plan and schedule to structure their time constructively and a supportive adult to help when they need it. For instance, I often build timetables for the children at the children’s home for their afterschool hours. I’ve also observed that many other “little” things, letting them decide what they want to wear, not only creates independence but also enhances their communication skills and how they express themselves. I can bathe, feed, change diapers play, and put kids to bed without supervision and I can also assist the older children with their homework. I thoroughly enjoy: 1. Cooking - I enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes from other cultures. Currently, I am discovering and experimenting with making healthy snacks and meals. When it comes to kids, I can make various healthy meals that they can enjoy. 2.Traveling - I love road trips! 3. Outdoor activities - I love to challenge myself physically and mentally. It’s a huge bonus that these are adrenaline-driven! 4. Playing volleyball - for fitness and keeping a healthy lifestyle. Actually, I am somewhat of a pro! 5. Reading and watching - I love to read motivational books, watching a variety of docu-series, but mostly ones related to cultural themes. I pride myself in my abilities to: 1. Plan and organize - I love to plan my things in order and have a schedule for my daily activities. This will be helpful when it comes to planning the kids’ daily activities and what needs to be done in the house. I enjoy when things are in order as it makes finding and locating things easy, this will be helpful when organizing the kids' toys and books. 2. Think creatively - I will be able to come up with and organize engaging activities for the kids to do. 3. Communicate – I have built strong muscles to easily communicate and understand others. I easily adapt and blend well in with new people and environments. 4. Be honest and trustworthy - I am an honest and trustworthy person. I look forward to spending a lovely year with you and your family!
