The welfare of a child both physical and emotional are the key things I learnt from a young age. I understood that baby sitting my young cousins as I grew up, was important not only for the joyful times we spent together but for the level of trust bestowed to me by their parents who trusted me to look after their most precious treasure.
As I began my career as a part time nanny and babysitter, working for family members, friends and friends of friends, I acquired skills in meeting different needs of children of different ages. I learnt how to plan, manage and organize my time in order to carry out my duties in the best way possible. My communication skills were harnessed as I needed it to communicate to my employers about the day to day activities with the children as well as any problems that may have come up. My time keeping and thinking on my feet has greatly been one skill I have developed a lot Although I have only managed to work as a nanny part time and baby sat as often as I could as there is not a large demand for nannies in Kenya, my love for it has only increased.
The opportunity to work as a nanny is a dream fulfilling opportunity for me, one that I take seriously and hope to get. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to help make raising your children easier and a wonderful experience.
