My aunt raised her nieces and I helped her raise them, I lived with my aunt for 4 years and took care of my cousins she was 3 years old, I fed her, took care of her and took her to school and picked her up, I also helped my aunt with housework and cooking, I helped my niece with her homework. I taught my cousins 9 types of skills formerly crucial for children. 1. Emotional development Experience in preschool or with a trained au pair tutor like myself should contribute to your child's better understanding of their emotions, as well as those of others. This includes both recognizing emotions and feelings and managing them and their behavior. 2. Social Skills Through collaborative play and learning, together, children in kindergarten or with an au pair tutor like me learn to respect and get along with others, which serves to further develop their language skills, social skills and ability to self-manage. It is important that the child learns to resolve basic conflicts that may arise during creative play. Or in structured learning projects. 3. Early Literacy By the age of three, children can begin to learn to write their names and read simple words. This will help with later language development. 4. Auditory skills. In order to follow instructions and understand what they are taught, young children must develop listening skills. These are indispensable for their social and academic adaptation in general. 5. Communication skills Children's ability to ask questions, express their feelings and make their needs known, both through spoken words and body language, is critical to their social and academic success. 6. Fine Motor Skills Craft activities at the preschool level or with an au pair tutor like me develop children's fine motor skills, which are necessary for more complex projects as they grow older. They require children to use markers, work with scissors, sculpt objects, and engage in other dexterity-focused creative play. 7. Ability to pay attention We can all sympathize with the difficulty some young students have in sitting still and paying attention for more than a few minutes. The structured, yet nurturing, environment of kindergarten and an au pair tutor like myself is key for children to stimulate their ability to pay attention and prepare for the more challenging academic environments ahead. 8. Problem Solving Skills Every aspect of life demands that we use problem-solving skills. Fundamental to success in school, personal relationships, and even the simplest activities of life. The acquisition of problem-solving skills should begin in preschool and can be taught and practiced through personal interactions, various games and elementary activities. 9. Creativity When we encourage children to express themselves creatively, we build self-confidence and motivate them to approach challenges from new perspectives. Creative activities are useful for children to discover a sense of themselves as individuals and can be a way for the adults in their lives to celebrate their uniqueness, keeping in mind that parents complement their children's education at home with the support of their au pair teacher.
