ANNA, 21 JAHRE

My name is Anna and I’m 18 years old but I will turn 19 in November. I’m from Copenhagen, Denmark. I am currently a senior in high school. Next year I would love to explore a different culture and way of life. I would like to combine my interests in traveling, foreign languages and caring for children. Being and au pair is a dream I have had throughout my high school years. My mom was an Au pair in Brussels and I’ve heard so many great things about spending a year abroad as an Au pair. In high school my advanced level classes are both English and French. I would like to continue to improve my languages skills as an Au Pair. I have experience in childcare as I have two younger sisters and worked with children for two years as a swimming instructor.

I’m very outgoing and I love meeting new people and interact with others. I love spending time with my family when I come home from school and we often bake or go on trips. I also have a lot of great friends that I love spending time with. I love reading and bicycling. I like to work and I got a job as a swimming instructor when I was 14. I’ve been swimming for 8 years and later got a job as an instructor. I would teach children from the age of 5 how to swim and supervise them in the water. This taught me a lot of responsibility and I loved working with the children. Last year I got a job in my local grocery store where I’ve learned to solve problems myself and be of help to others.
Both the jobs have also taught me skills of independency and to take an initiative myself.

My parents have been divorce for 9 years which means I have basically two families. I primarily live with my mom, my sister who is 14 and our dog Mickey. My mom is a lawyer and we live in a small house in a suburb to Copenhagen. I have a very close bond with my mom and little sister. My dad and his wife live in Copenhagen with their 1 year old daughter. As an older sister with two little sisters I’m used to having a responsibility and caring for children. I love spending time with children and being an Au pair would be a great way to spend my gab year.

Once I’m done with my gab year I want to study at the university of Copenhagen. I would like to work with animals or culture.
