LEAH, 30 JAHRE

I just relocated to Brisbane after travelling alone for six months. Prior to completing my PGCE last year in Design Technology secondary education specialising in the teaching of food, I completed a degree in food and Consumer management for which I achieved a 1st with honors. I also worked as a teaching assistant within both primary and secondary schools within the UK, specialising in the autistic spectrum in secondary school. I also have three months experience as a unit leader at a girl scouts camp from Camp America where I was in charge of a unit of between 15-20 girls and up to 5 counsellors. My role within this included staff rotas, medications, ordering of activity equipment, scheduling of activities, timings of activities and filling out of paperwork. I have a first aid qualification from the American red cross from my time at the camp. Throughout my working experience I have worked with a range of children aged from 3-18 years old all with a variety of needs. I also have 8 years hospitality experience, 3 years’ experience within the retail industry as a brand ambassador and 1 year as a receptionist. I am a very resourceful person and am open and approachable. I enjoy being part of a team but can also work alone using my own initiative. Throughout my working career in particularly teaching I have demonstrated the ability to work under pressure, be exceptionally organised and solve a range of problems.
