AMANDA, 28 JAHRE

My name is Amanda and I am 23 years old. I am a christian.
I am a very flexible person. I consider myself caring, lovely, polite, organized and dedicated person. I have a great relationship with my family and friends.

In Brazil, I was used to living in Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro. Because of my studies, I was living there by myself for 4 years. During this time I was used to visiting my family most of the weekends. They were living in a different city called São Gonçalo.

My father is N., 49 years old, he is military and works as a musician at a fire department in Rio de Janeiro city. My mother is L. and she is 51 years old. She does not work because she takes care of my sister. She is L. and is 20 years old. She has some medical issues that request special cares full time.
My experiences with children in Brazil were all linked by music. I have used give violin lessons to some children. I have also worked on a social project in my church, helping my father with music classes with about 15 children a few years ago. I liked it and I really enjoy being with the children and showing music and the violin itself to them. Teaching is always an opportunity to learn more as well.

For now, I am being an au pair in Bussum, Netherlands. I will be here until June. So far it has been the best experience in my life ever. I take care of 3 kids, S., E. and P. , 9, 7 and 5 years old. We all have a good relationship. They make me feel comfortable and part of the family.
As an Au pair besides watching the kids, I cook dinner and also have to manage the extras activities.
They are 3 kids, so we have to know how to use all this energy. We play outside, go for a ride on our bikes, go to the parks and farms around the town. Because of the weather, they consider the summer the most fun season of the year. Last summer we had a lot of fun with the longest days. We went to the beach, ice cream shops, swimming pools. It was definitely a lovely time for all of us.
Between summer and autumn, I traveled with the host family to Oxford city and Athens. It was a really nice time with them and an amazing moment to be around them.
It is my first time outside out of Brazil. I can feel that I grow as a person and it has changed my view about how to live. Besides Holland, I have traveled around Europe. I like traveling and being around different cultures and languages. So far I can say that my time here is being amazing.
I would love to be an Au pair again because I want to improve my English, to learn another culture and to meet new people I believe that new experiences and people can change us for a better version. I am looking forward to meet my new host family.
