JOÃO, 27 JAHRE

My name is João and I’m 21 years old. I was born in Salvador, state of Bahia, Brazil in March 1997 and I have been living there until September this year when I moved to Porto, northern Portugal.

Since I was a child, it was very easy for me to make new friends. I enjoy meeting new people. My favourite hobbies are listening to music, playing video games, studying history and chatting online with my friends.

I was raised by my loving 90-year-old grandmother and two aunties and had great times with them. I have a brother who’s going to become father in six months from now and I'm really excited about that. I’m a friendly person and I believe that being connected to my family will help me a lot during the Au pair program.

I like to be around kids and love how fast they learn new things and how they can be loving to you when you treat them with love and kindness. Arts and crafts, singing, and board games are some of my favourite activities.

Nowadays I’m living with an old lady in a small apartment in the centre of Porto. She has a 2 year old grandson; he is full of energy. I go to his house every weekend to take care of him while his parents are at work; we have a lot of fun together. His family is very happy with my decision of becoming an Au pair.

I love everything about technology and the power it has to connect people and help us in our daily life. I worked for 1 year and a half in a communication company and was dealing with different people, from different parts of Brazil and even the world every day and it made me very happy.

About my future, I’m sure I want to do this Au pair program to meet a new family, befriending children, teach and learn new things from them every day. To have the opportunity to grow up alongside the family children will be very enjoyable, help them with the duties and see them becoming better people every day will make me very happy. I also want to see new places, cultures and having incredible experiences in another country and I know it will add a lot in my life experience.

I would like to thank the family in advance that will choose me to be their Au pair. I am dedicating myself in every way for this program; I am improving my English every day and I hope to be able to learn mandarin quickly. I’ll do my best every day.
