PEDRO, 24 JAHRE

Dear host family... My name is Pedro Nicolas, I am 22 years old and I live alone in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My mother's name is Miriam and she works as a medical assistant in Buenos Aires too, and my father's name is Oscar and he works as a taxi driver in Misiones. I have an older sister named Pamela. She is 26 years old. And an older brother named Cristian. He is 30 years old. We are a very united, sociable and communicative family. My family is very big and I love it. My mother has two sisters and four brothers, and my father has two sisters and one brother, so I have a lot of uncles, aunts, and little cousins. I love children and when my aunt and uncle ask me, I go to take care of my little cousins, preparing their meals, helping them with their summer homework, playing and doing crafts together or going to the pool. I have always been surrounded by children! When I finished high school, I decided to study Tourism and Hospitality in Misiones, near my father's house, about 80 kilometers away. For me, it was one of the most important decisions of my life. Living away from home has taught me to value many things, to be much more responsible than I was before I left, and to mature as a person. I think it was a very good opportunity to learn more about myself and it was for me. I have always been very active and hard-working, so I tried to help out at home by combining my studies with different jobs while living away from home. I love working with children because they know how to get the best out of me and I try to teach them to do the best they can. It is a very rewarding job. My family and friends say that I am a very paternal, responsible and loving person, and I also love children, so this year I decided to fulfill my dream of being an au pair. They support my decision and are very happy for me. I am delighted to have the opportunity to improve my knowledge, learn about your lifestyle, your customs and your country, which I greatly admire. And what better way than doing what I love! I love spending time with children and learning everything they can teach me every day. They learn a lot from us, but we learn more from them than we think. For me it is wonderful to see them grow with us and learn, little by little, to be more independent. I have experience caring for children from six months to fifteen years old, girls and boys as well. In 2019 I took care of Juana, six years old, and Alberto, thirteen. The experience was great. I woke up the kids, we had breakfast together, I helped them get dressed, go to the pool or play charades because they liked it. Then I took care of Fabricio, who loved to see how he made plasticine figures and then try to make them himself. Fabri was a very responsible child so I helped her with her summer homework and when it was over we went to the pool. Sometimes I would dress up with him and we would play cards or make paper airplanes, because what he liked the most was surprising his father, who was a pilot, with these little planes he had made himself. In addition to babysitting experience, I also love reading books every day when I have free time, listening to podcasts and watching movies, traveling and learning about other cultures and ways of life, meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences, hanging out with friends or prepare lunch or dinner. I like to eat healthy, cook and try new flavors. I find it very entertaining to teach children fun shakes.
