You can work at ease knowing you will find happy kids waiting for you back home. I am available to help and would love to become your children’s big sister. First, let me tell you a little bit about me... My name is Marcela and I am 28 years old. I was born in Trelew, a small city located in my beloved Patagonia, a region in the south of Argentina. I am the youngest of eight sisters and two brothers, yes 10 siblings! As you can imagine my parents had to work really hard to feed the entire casting of “Cheapest by the Dozen”, which is why they were out most of the day. However, we grew up knowing that we all had a responsibility at home but also that we were never alone, the was always one of us willing to help. Years later, this inspired me to choose teaching as a career path, in which I would become that protective, supportive, reliable, sometimes strict but loving figure my siblings were for me along the way. Later on, I was lucky enough to become an aunt not once but nine times, which taught me what looking after someone really means. This is the reason why I would like to join your family as your next Au Pair, thus achieving that sisterly relationship with the kids: whether that means playing and spending time with them, or making sure boundaries and responsibilities are being respected. When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life such as mate with family and friends, visiting places, reading a great book at a small coffee shop, listening to live music, the excitement of learning something new, and a Harry Potter marathon with the kids. I also enjoy painting even when I am not good at it. I would describe myself as a positive, highly organized, reliable, fun, and caring person who loves to laugh. When it comes to child care experience, I have looked after children of diverse ages in both formal and informal contexts. Although I am currently taking care of two of my beautiful nieces for four hours a day, I think finding my way around a new house and country might be challenging during the first couple of days; but I am confident that I will adapt to the new tasks and daily routine quickly and become a big help for you. After all, I already spent six months abroad working in a cruise ship; which turned out to be an extremely educational yet demanding experience. As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement for at least six months, so I will make my dream of living in a foreign country and immersing in a new culture true. During this time, I hope to get close to your family and share some of my traditions and language with you. Why not some of my favorite Argentinian meals? However, rest assured I both understand and respect the fact that this is your home and so I will do my best to adapt to your rules and customs.
