LUDMILA, 25 JAHRE

Dear family,

     I am Ludmila and I'm 22 years old. I've been born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I currently live with my mother Silvia, a mathematics teacher. On the other side, my father Eugenio works in a textile factory, where he sells all kinds of uniforms. I also have an older sister and best friend, her name is Antonella and she's 29 years old, I'm proud of her and so happy because she gave me the best thing in life, my little niece Esme. Even though we are a small family, we've grown very close, and communicative, by the click of a button we call and if necessary we're there for each other. My mother has a sister as well and, with that, I have two cousins. I love children and being there for them, taking care of my niece and cousins when my sister or older cousins are at work, preparing their food, helping them with homework, drawing and doing crafts, amongst other things. My favourites, and also children's, are storytelling and singing and dancing together!

  When I finished high school, I decided to study Forensic and Crime Science in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, the capital of my country. For me, it was one of the most important and exciting decisions in my life. I think it was a very good opportunity to learn more about myself, my responsibility and maturity has been growing bigger ever since and has helped me to become the person I am. I have always been very active and hard working, so I tried to help at home combining my studies with different jobs, that could fit between classes. That's why I worked in birthday events for children and as a teacher. I love working with them, they know how to get the best out of everyone and I try to encourage them to do their best. It's incredibly rewarding.

   Since I was a teenager I'm interested in European culture, part of the credit I shall give to music and dance, things I couldn't live without. My desire to know more about the continent and the culture has increased. My family and my friends say that I'm a very motherly and warm, ('mother of the group', they call me) responsible and a retailer. So this year I decided to fulfill my dream of being an au pair in Europe. They support my decision and they are very happy for me. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to improve my English and Danish, meet your lifestyle, your habits and your country, which I greatly admire. And even better that I get to do what I love! I love spending time with children and learning everything they can teach me every day, when one teaches, two learn. I find wonderful to see them grow up with us, and become, little by little, more independent.

    I have experience in caring for children from newly borns to twelve years, girls and boys too. I've been doing it since I'm 16 and all I can say is that the experience was and is great. I use to wake up the children, prepare breakfast, help them get dressed, take them to school or enjoy the day by playing.
At kids events, I was in charge of looking after them, make sure they eat and have all they need, so later we could play all the available games. I have to admit that building Lego castles together woke up the admiration I have for children, the sharing and cooperation experience is one of my aspirations at work.
With Esme we had the obsession of making different shaped plasticine figures. She was a very responsable girl who followed me everywhere I went, so I used to help her in her homework, and if she was on vacation we also practiced, with the motivation of going to the swimming pool once we were over. Sometimes, I dressed up with her and  we played as actresses, saleswomen or cooks, we keep her babies and pets fed!

   On the other hand, I liked Bauti experience, I've known him since he was born as well. When he was a baby I had to prepare his bottles, fed him, help him to develop the skills that a baby of his age begins to learn, cheer him up so we could crawl and eventually stand up, entertaining him with toys or helping him to sleep. He was a great fan of Toy Story and dinosaurs.

   Besides childcare experience, I also love doing exercise, I've been a ballerina since I was 4 years old, when I developed this eternal passion, that leads me to how much I love listening to music. I read a lot too, every time I have the chance, especially young fiction novels. My other hobbies are watching movies and series, learning about other cultures and ways of life, meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences, going out with friends or gathering to have dinner with my family. I like healthy eating, cooking and trying new flavors but, due to my sweet tooth, I love making cakes and chocolate or fruity cookies. I find very entertaining (and healthy) teaching children how to incorporate colours in every meal, they love decorating them.
